RAWALPINDI, Aug 21: The Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi bench, on Wednesday granted bail to former NWFP chief minister Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbasi on medical grounds.

The bench, comprising Justice Mian Mohammed Jehangir and Justice Mohammed Akhtar Shabir, after examining the medical report of the board it had constituted, admitted the bail petition of the former Frontier CM on health grounds.

Mehtab Khan Abbasi was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment by the AC Attock on charges of corruption in wheat procurement deal. It was argued that his appeal against the Accountability Court was pending from last one year.
