ISLAMABAD, May 17 Iranian authorities are being suspected of providing cover to the man who attacked Pakistan's ambassador in the country last week.
An Afghan national attacked Ambassador M.B. Abbasi with a knife when he came out of his car in Tehran. Mr Abbasi survived but suffered an injury as he fell down.
The Afghan man was arrested, but his interrogation has been shrouded in secrecy.
The progress in the probe has not been shared with the Pakistani mission in Tehran or the Foreign Office in Islamabad despite Islamabad's request that it should be kept abreast of the investigations.
“We had asked them to share the findings of the investigations,” Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit told Dawn. The press counsellor in Pakistan embassy, M.M. Jaffery, confirmed that the mission had not been updated about the investigation.
