Seven Toba Nazimeen to resign

TOBA TEK SINGH, Aug 20: Nazimeen of seven union councils will resign from their offices to contest October elections.

They are Saeed Akbar, Saeed Jeelani and Saeed Ahmad Saeedi from Toba Tek Singh tehsil; Saifullah Cheema, Arshad Noori and Mian Shoaib Muhammad from Kamalia tehsil and Syed Asad Abbas Shah from Kamalia tehsil.

Meanwhile, candidates continued obtaining nomination forms from the offices of returning officers throughout the district on Tuesday. However, no candidate filed nomination papers.

JOINS JUI-F: The Punjab president of the banned Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan, Maulana Muhammad Ahmad Ludhianvi, joined Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazlur Rahman group) on Tuesday after meeting JUI central council member and district general secretary Abdul Basit.

Source said that Maulana Ludhianvi would be a Muttahida Majlis Amal (MMA) candidate for NA-94 and PP-88 (Kamalia).
