JHANG, Aug 19: Three people, including two women, were killed and 25 others sustained injuries as a bus carrying a marriage party overturned near Adda Kausarabad, 35 kilometres from here, on the Jhang-Shorkot Road on Sunday evening.

The bus (LHQ-4989) was carrying a marriage party from Vehari to Majhi Sultan village in Jhang tehsil. When the overloaded bus reached near Kausarabad, one of the rear tyres of the bus burst as a result of which it overturned. Bus driver Abdul Hameed, Sattan Mai and Bhakan Mai died on the spot. Of the 25 injured, 21 are stated to be women.

The condition of nine injured was serious.

MURDER: A young man was shot dead by four gunmen in Samanabad, Jhang Sadar, when he was asleep in his house early on Monday morning.

Yousaf was sleeping in the compound of his house while his father Ramzan and other family members were sleeping on the roof, when accused Yasin, Arif, Kifayat and Asif entered the house by scaling the boundary wall. They shot and killed Yousaf on the spot and fled from the scene.

A case has been registered on the complaint of the father of Yousaf. No arrest has so far been made.
