BAJAUR, Aug 18: At least eight people died and many others were affected when cholera broke out in the Barang subdivision of the Bajaur Agency in the last couple of days, sources told Dawn on Saturday.

Mordarra, Kamadarra, Mena and Barang villages were badly affected by the epidemic, due to lack of health facilities in this far-flung subdivision.

The political administration sent a team to the area to provide medical assistance to the people. The team, led by the Nawagai assistant political agent, comprises doctors, paramedical staff and officials of the administration.
