KARACHI, April 20 Country's ace tennis player Aqeel Khan had a cakewalk over Faraz Meer to surge into the men's singles quarter-finals of the fourth Sindh Open ranking tennis tournament of the year at the Beach View Club on Tuesday.

Playing his first match after getting a bye, the top seed convincingly got the better of his opponent 6-3, 6-0. Aqeel is drawn to face Multan's Imran Shoukat in the quarters as the latter was home over Basit Gabol 6-3 (retired).

Three other players who moved into the last-eight phase include Nomi Qamer, Yasir Khan and Saif Noor Sumar. Nomi accounted for Shahbaz Khosa 6-1, 6-3 while Yasir overcame Asadullah 6-2, 6-1. Saif whipped Hyderabad's Noman Farid 6-3, 6-0.

Winners of three more matches are yet to join the above five to complete the last eight line-up.
