LAHORE, April 16 Former Pakistan goalkeeper Mansoor Ahmed has requested the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) to review its decision of imposing a life ban on him for levelling serious allegations of human smuggling on the officials of the federation.

PHF President Qasim Zia told the press conference here on Friday that Mansoor had sent a written request to the PHF, which was presented for the consideration before the Executive Board (E/B) in Friday's meeting.

“The E/B has asked Mansoor to personally appear before it in the next meeting to explain his side,” he said.

The serious allegations made by Mansoor could have been very embarrassing for the country but the charges fell flat after a thorough inquiry by the federal government.

However, the PHF decided to impose a life ban on him for defaming the country.
