LAHORE Pakistans top ladies player Sara Mansoor and brother of the top mens player, Yasir Khan advanced through to the quarter-finals of the All Pakistan Tennis Championships at the Model Town courts here on Wednesday.

Yasir Khan fought hard to beat Heera Ashiq 7-6 (2), 6-4. Tanveer Ashiq defeated Omer Babar 7-5, 7-5. Waqas Malik ousted Fayyaz Khan 6-3, 6-2, while Shehzad Khan won against Munir Ashiq, who was retired hurt after losing the first set 3-6.


In the ladies singles, three players entered the quarter-finals. Sara Mansoor dropped no game in eliminating Khunshah Baber 6-0, 6-0. Mehak Khokhar moved ahead after beating Sohaila Masroor 6-1, 6-4. Iman Qureshi toppled Shehla Nazir 6-1, 6-0.

Matches were also played in the boys U-18 singles category.
