PESHAWAR, Aug 15: The Sarhad Engineers Welfare Association (Sewa) on Thursday asked the NWFP governor to cancel the postings and transfers of  the employees of communications and works department by Federally Administered Tribal areas secretariat, said a press release.

The cabinet of Sewa in a meeting alleged that merit had been violated  while issuing the directives of the transfers and postings of the employees, including XEns, SDOs, sub-engineers and clerks.

The meeting was also attended by engineers from Khyber, Mohmand, Orakzai, Kurram, North and West Waziristan agencies.

It said the Fata development corporation had been wound up and its employees had been removed under the golden handshake scheme but the section officer of the corporation was still in place.

The meeting formed a seven-member committee to apprise the governor, chief secretary, Fata secretary and NWFP C&W minister about their grievances.
