ISLAMABAD, March 16 A former chief of Balochistan chapter of Jamaat-i-Islami and former member of National Assembly, Maulana Abdul Haq Baloch, passed away at a private hospital here on Tuesday.

According to a press release, Maulana Baloch was recently operated upon and went into a coma.

JI chief Syed Munawar Hasan, former chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed, deputy presidents Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam Saleemi, Prof Khurshid Ahmad, Prof Ghafoor Ahmad, Sirajul Haq, Liaquat Baloch and Dr Fareed Ahmad Paracha paid tribute to the late leader and offered their condolences.

Maulana Baloch was a religious leader who got contemporary education as well, said the party handout.
