HYDERABAD, Feb 12 A cultural show of the artistes of Indonesia and Sindh will be held at the Expo Centre here on February 21.

This was decided in a meeting between the acting Consul General of Indonesia in Karachi Ms Merita Yenni and Hyderabad District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil at the latter's office.

Ms Yenni proposed a joint cultural show of the artistes of Indonesia and Sindh in Hyderabad and said that exchange of cultural and literary delegations between her country and Pakistan will go a long way in cementing the relations between the two countries.

She said that Indonesia and Pakistan were Islamic countries and both were working to ensure world peace.

Expressing concern over bomb blasts in Karachi and loss of precious lives, she said that the acts of terrorism had harmed the cultural, literary and social activities in the city.

Ms Yenni said that she was impressed with the development schemes that had been carried out in Hyderabad.

The district nazim told the visiting diplomat that Hyderabad was a historical city and had always remained peaceful. He spoke at length on the cultural activities organised by the district government and welcomed the suggestions of the Indonesian consul general.

He presented a book on the development schemes of Hyderabad and cultural gifts to the visiting diplomat

Later, the Indonesian consul-general visited the Expo Centre.
