MURREE, Jan 28 The hill station on Thursday received a few drops of rain along with a very light snowfall that lasted for only a few minutes to the dismay of tourists.

The met office had forecast heavy rains and snowfall for Friday.

Expecting heavy snowfall, a large number of tourists from various parts of the country thronged the hill station but were disappointed.

However, the cloudy weather brought down the temperature to below freezing point.

Meanwhile, the capital city received light drizzle but not the one which was badly needed to meet the rising water shortage.

The minimum temperature recorded in the city was 21 degree centigrade.

The met department has also predicted a cloudy weather and rain on Friday morning.

The metrological department has predicted isolated rain with snowfall over the hills in upper Punjab, upper NWFP and Kashmir.

APP adds Director Meteorological Department, Mohammad Hanif said that current rain spell in some parts of upper Punjab and entire NWFP may prevail till mid-Friday.

He said in NWFP 10-20 mm rain is expected while light to moderate rain with intervals may hit upper parts of Punjab including Rawalpindi and the federal capital.
