Six of a family drown

SKARDU, Aug 5: At least four women and two children drowned in upper Kachura Lake on Sunday, police sources said on Monday.

According to sources, the family members of Javed Baig, assistant director of education, Skardu, had gone for picnic to the lake. The motor boat they hired for boating in the lake capsized.

Dilshad, wife of Javed Baig; Kali, 18, daughter of Mohammad Aslam; Fatima, 10, daughter of Akhlaq Hussain; Nazi, daughter of Mohammad Ashraf; Nabeel Hassan, 9, son of Nadeem; and Shama Batool, wife of Nadeem, drowned.
