HYDERABAD, Aug 3: The parents of a burn victim, Ishrat, staged a token hunger strike outside the Hyderabad press club here on Saturday against the delay in the arrest of some of the accused.

The woman had received serious burn injuries in Noorani Basti, Paretabad, on July 24 and is lying in the burns ward of the Liaquat university hospital.

Talking to newsmen, her brother, Arshad, said that the husband of Ishrat, Arif, mother-in-law, Naseem, brother-in-Law, Babu, and sister-in-law, Shama, had tried to burn his sister alive due to some domestic dispute.

He said today doctors had announced that she could not be saved as she had received serious burn injuries.

He claimed that Arif had also burnt his first wife to death.
