SUKKUR, Dec 13 The work of property registration has been in suspension since Nov 14 when Sindh Minister for Revenue Jam Mahtab Dahar relieved all officers working on deputation in the revenue department as sub-registrars.

The step has caused inconvenience to people of Sukkur, Rohri, Pano Akil, Kandhra, Salehpat and their adjoining areas and also deprived the department of registration fees.

Sellers and buyers of property are facing serious problems because of suspension of registration work in Sukkur.

Sources in the department said that Inspector General of Registration Sindh Imtiaz Ahmed Rajpar had requested the minister to appoint sub-registrars on vacant posts but no action had been taken so far.
