ISLAMABAD, Dec 4 Country's sports suffered a blow when it lost the president of the Pakistan Polo and Equestrian Association, Maj-Gen Bilal Umer Khan, in the terrorist attack on a mosque in Rawalpindi on Friday.

Dozens of other people were killed in the suicide attack.

“Gen Bilal was an asset to the sports and was a brilliant polo and equestrian player,” federal Minister for Sports Aftab Shah Jilani said. Gen Bilal, he said, used to play for Rawalpindi Polo Club.

“His death is a great loss and he will be remembered for years to come for his contribution to the sports in the country.”
