SIALKOT, July 30: Local District Health Officer Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal has started a departmental probe against a contractor and some health officials accused of buying sub-standard electrical material worth millions of rupees.

On receiving complaints about a month back, Sialkot district government’s special raiding team, headed by district health committee chairperson Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, had recovered sub-standard electrical material worth millions of rupees from the stores of Sialkot health department.

Over this, district Nazim Mian Naeem Javed constituted an inquiry team. The team discovered the malpractice of the contractor and some corrupt officials.
