HYDERABAD, July 30: Notwithstanding the orders of the DCO, Hyderabad, Mir Hussain Ali, dated July 10, to allot residential accommodation to Ms Shamsunnisa Shaikh, assistant director, Social Welfare Department, Hyderabad, the sister of the slain Dr Ghulam Ali Shaikh, chief medical officer, Central Jail, Hyderabad, the former occupant of the residence, who is no longer serving in Hyderabad, has not vacated the premises.

The allotment was made on the recommendations of the health minister, Ahsan Ahmed, as Dr Ghulam was killed “because he refused to give in to the unjustified and illegal demands of a powerful group of influential prisoners”.

The DCO had cancelled the allotment of Shafique Haider Musvi, superintendent engineer, Highways, Hyderabad.
