QUETTA, July 30: The Balochistan government has set up Mines and Minerals department for the development of mineral resources in the province.

A high-level meeting chaired by provincial governor Amirul Mulk Mengal on Tuesday reviewed the progress on the implementation of National Mineral Policy in Balochistan.

The new Mines and Mineral department would be responsible for supervising all development work to be launched in the province for the exploration and exploitation of minerals.

Amirul Mulk Mengal urged upon the authorities concerned and departments to evolve comprehensive planning for the exploration and exploitation of various minerals in the province.

“Balochistan’s future development depends on exploitation of mineral resources,” Justice Mengal said.
