160 tubewells to be installed

DADU, July 29: About 160 tubewells would be installed in different parts of Dadu district soon.

This was said by Sindh secretary, irrigation, Mir Mohammad Parhiar, while talking to growers at the irrigation office, Khairpur Nathan Shah, on Monday.

He said that water level was rising in waterways emanating from the Rice Canal.

He assured that due water share would be provided to the tail-enders.

DEMO: A large number of employees of Dadu taluka municipal committee staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Monday to protest against non-payment of their salaries for the last three months.

The demonstrators were carrying banners, placards and raising slogans in favour of their demands.

They were led by the president of the municipal employees union, Basheer Ahmed Solangi.
