Tribal clash claims 2 lives

SHIKARPUR, July 29: Two people were killed in an armed clash between two rival groups of the Jafri tribe near the Laung-Detho village, Garhi Yasin Taluka, on Monday.

Five armed Jafri tribesmen, residents of Khairpur District, attacked one of the houses of their rivals and opened fire. The residents of the house retaliated.

In the exchange of fire, the leader of the attacking group, Salar Jafri, was killed, and so was Rahmatullah Jafri, who belonged to the rival group.

As soon as Salar was killed, the four remaining attackers escaped.

The Garhi Yasin police have registered a case.
