ISLAMABAD Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan demanded of the government to bring to justice former dictator Pervez Musharraf.

Speaking on a point of order in the house, he said that the former dictator had issued a statement against President Asif Zardari, which was very much condemnable.

'Our differences with the present government aside, we will not allow anybody to issue statements against the elected President of Pakistan', said the opposition leader.

He was of the opinion that the present government has given him a chance to indulge in character-assassination of the President of Pakistan by not initiating Musharraf's trial.

Chaudhry Nisar said that still there was time to bring him to the court of law and punish him for his crimes.

'We should strengthen the democratic system in the country and we can do so by taking steps against the former dictator,' said Nisar.—APP
