SARGODHA, July 26: A revenue patwari of the city sub-division had caused a loss of Rs100 million to public exchequer with the connivance of former MNA who is in NAB custody.

This was alleged by one Muhammad Salim of Shah Nikdar.

He alleged that patwari Muhammad Aslam transferred 144 kanals of land to his favourites on nominal charges thus causing huge loss to the public exchequer.

Salim alleged that the Board of Revenue allotted land on the Sillanwali Road near the industrial area for the construction of Hameed Town and Municipal Employees Co-operative Housing Colony but patwari Aslam sold the land.

The complainant named some of the beneficiaries to whom the patwari transferred plots. They included Shafqat Husain, Khurshid Alam, Ruqayya Begum, Lubna Sarwat, Khalid Mahmood, Qamar Rashid and Muhammad Aslam. He claimed that the allottees were neither municipal employees nor related to any employee.

Complainant Salim claimed that though the MNA was in NAB custody, patwari Aslam was still working on the same place. He said an inquiry has, however, been ordered by the Punjab governor against the patwari. But, he was not confident about the outcome of the inquiry.

RAPE VICTIM HELD: Instead of taking action against the son of an influential, Midh Ranjha police put the rape victim behind bar and forcing her to compromise with the accused.

This was alleged by ‘N’ in an application submitted to the sessions judge here on Friday.

He alleged that his daughter was serving as a maid servant in the house of a landlord. His son Shahbaz raped her for several days. He claimed that he lodged a report with the Midh Ranjha police but they forced him to compromise with the landlord. On his refusal, police arrested his daughter. The judge summoned the police with record.

Meanwhile, an NGO reported a similar case in which ‘A’ was raped allegedly by multimillionaire Muhammad Nadeem. The accused reportedly bribed the police which refused to entertain her application.
