PESHAWAR, July 26: The political authorities of Khyber Agency arrested five alleged outlaws on Friday from Jamrud and recovered assault rifles and ammunition from their possession, officials said.

They said the accused, identified as Imtiaz, (gang leader), Anwar Syed, Hakem Khan, Anwar Khan and Sher Zameen would be handed over to the Crimes Investigation Agency for interrogation.

Assistant Political Agent, Jamrud (Khyber Agency), Riaz Khan Mahsood, told newsmen at his office that the gang was wanted by Peshawar, Swabi and Kohat police in a number of cases of abduction, robberies and the killing of two personnel of the law enforcement agencies.

He said the Khasadar Force and Frontier Corps backed by armed personnel carriers rushed to the area and besieged the venue.

The accused surrendered themselves without resistance and they would be handed over to CIA, Peshawar circle, he said.
