KARACHI, Oct 17 Shahwilayat Public won the sixth AKU Inter-school basketball tournament, beating The City (PAF Chapter) 56-48 in an interesting final here on Friday.

Shooter Jauhar Hasnain starred in his team's triumph by contributing 26 points and was well supported by Mohammad Abbas (10) and Hermain Ahmed (6). Asad Gilani (15), Shazik Burney (14) did well for the losers.

The winning captain Jauhar Hussain received the winners trophy from Principal of the Karachi Grammar School G.C. Platts while Shazail Burney collected the runners-up trophy.

Jauhar Hussain of the winning team was also declared the most valuable player of the tournament having scored 147 points in the event.

Consolation prizes were also given to the Amsh Saif (KGC), Kamal Islam (PSCC) and Mobein Khurram (CAS).—APP
