PESHAWAR, July 24: Qabail Jamhoori Party (QJP) has asked the Chief Election Commission to announce schedule for local government elections in the Federally-Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).

Party spokesman Asadullah Advocate here on Wednesday hailed the government decision of holding elections in tribal areas. He said President Gen Pervez Musharraf had taken a bold decision by issuing the Federally Administered Tribal Areas Local Government Election Order 2002.

He said the Election Comm-ission should start preparations for local bodies elections in the tribal areas and immediately announce the election schedule.
