PESHAWAR, July 22: The Khyber Union of Journalists and All Pakistan Newspapers Employees Confederation (APNEC), NWFP, jointly observed a token hunger strike on Shershah Soori Road in front of the Peshawar Press Club here on Monday.

According to a press release, the hunger strike would continue till the acceptance of demands including the implementation of the Seventh Wage Award.

ANP leader Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, JUI leader Jalil Ahmed Jan, President of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industries Zahid Hussain Malik, Nazim of Peshawr Town-I Haroon Bashir Bilour, Labour leader Gul Rehman and others visited the hunger strikers’ camp and expressed their solidarity with the journalist community.
