KARACHI, Sept 13 Colony Multan Falcons and Bahria Town Islamabad Tigers earned victories in the 1st MCB Junior Hockey Super League at the Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) on Sunday.

Colony Multan Falcons outclassed Habib Rafiq Peshawar Hawks 5-0. The goals were scored by left-out Mohammad Mushtaq (48th and 67th min), captain and centre-forward Khurram Shahzad (68th min), right-in Hafiz Zohaib (70th min) and Asif Aslam (73rd min). Multan's centre-half Mouddat Ali was declared Man of the Match and presented with the prize by Chief Selector Olympian Hasan Sardar.

In the other match, Bahria Town Islamabad Tigers beat Bio Amla Abbottabad Rockies 1-0. The decider was scored by right-in Mohammad Arsalan in the 47th min. Arsalan was also named Man of the Match and presented the prize by national selector Mohammad Shafique.

Earlier on Saturday evening, Habib Rafiq Peshawar Hawks, Bahria Town Islamabad Tigers and Atlas Honda Faisalabad Bulls triumphed after beating their respective opponents.

Habib Rafiq Peshawar Hawks beat Maymar Quetta Leopards 3-1. Left-in Mohammad Bashir (11th and 37th mins) and right-in Zohaib Khan (48th min) were the scorers for Peshawar while Quetta's lone goal came through their left-out Mohammad Asif (45th min).

Peshawar's Mohammad Bashir was named Man of the Match and presented the prize by Pakistan Hockey Federation's (PHF) Treasurer Gulfraz Ahmed Khan.

In another match, Bahria Town Islamabad Tigers edged past CDGK Karachi Dolphins 4-3.

For Islamabad, the goals were scored by fullback Bilal Mahmood (13th min), left-in Abdul Jabbar (40th min), centre-forward Abdullah (44th min) and left-half Adnan (46th min).

Meanwhile, left-half Aley Imran (53rd min), centre-forward Sarfraz Ahmad (53rd min) and right-in Sohail Ashraf (74th min) scored for Karachi.

Islamabad's Abdul Jabbar was named Man of the Match and rewarded by International Afroze Alam Lari.

In the day's last match, Atlas Honda Faisalabad Bulls gave a 5-0 thrashing to Engro Larkana Qalandars.

The goals were scored by right-out Akbar Ali (29th and 46th min), Mohammad Sabir (36th min), Adnan Sohail (45th min) and centre-half Mohsin Sabir (48th min).

Mohsin Sabir was declared Man of the Match and given the prize by Karachi Hockey Association's (KHA) patron Shaikh Mazhar Mahmood.

Eight teams have qualified for the quarter-finals. They are Rose Petal Lahore Lions, Maksons Sialkot Eagles, Atlas Honda Faisalabad Bulls, Colony Multan Falcons, CDGK Karachi Dolphins, Bahria Town Islamabad Tigers, Bio Amla Abbottabad Rockies and Maymar Quetta Leopards.
