KARACHI, Aug 19 Upset galore continued in the 18th Sindh Cup snooker tournament phase one when qualifier Ahmer Shaikh ended pretensions of top seed Mohammad Baqar in the pre quarter-finals at the Indus Snooker Parlour on Wednesday.

Ahmer lost the first and fourth frames before making serious efforts to clinch the best of seven frame match 4-2 which earned him a place in the last eight. The scores were 0-94, 83-21, 85-6, 49-53, 58-31, 89-21.

The third and fourth seeds, namely Asim Ghani and S.M. Ali Zaidi, were crashed out on Tuesday.

Second seed Kashif Khan is the only player among the top four left in contention for the title. He got past Zahid Junejo convincingly 4-1 (70-22, 17-64, 57-56, 66-36, 66-9) to reach the quarters. He also cracked a break of 59 in the fourth frame.
