PESHAWAR, July 11: The District Nazim of Dir Lower, Dr Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, has stressed upon the authorities concerned to do proper planning and ensure timely, fair and judicious utilization of the developmental funds.

He was presiding over a meeting convened by him to discuss budgetary matters for the new fiscal year at the district government secretariat, Timergara.

The meeting was attended by District Coordination Officer Hazrat Masood Mian, District Naib Nazim Haji Muhammad Rasool Khan and district heads of all government departments.

The District Nazim said “the people, after electing us, have pinned high hopes on the district government and we have to come up to their expectations by serving them selflessly and without any discrimination.”

Dr Yaqoob said the wastage or unnecessary delay in the utilization of developmental funds would not be tolerated at any cost and directed the officials concerned to keep him abreast about the progress of work on the developmental schemes by submitting him progress report on monthly basis.

Stressing for the timely, fair and judicious utilization of the developmental funds, the District Nazim said that provision of more funds for Dir Lower were linked with the efficiency and performance and therefore “it is the need of the hour that we should work by keeping a close liaison with each other and through mutual consultations.”

Earlier, the meeting was informed that under the Provincial Finance Commission Award the district would receive Rs30.356 million during the new financial year 2002-03 while Rs24.248 million had been allocated for the ongoing developmental schemes in the Annual Developmental Programme.—APP
