DERA GHAZI KHAN, May 28 Multan Commissioner Hassan Iqbal has directed the officials to hire an aircraft or a helicopter to shower seeds on Fort Munro hills.

Presiding over a meeting at the Jirga Hall in Fort Munro, the only hill station of south Punjab about 85 kilometres from DG Khan, Mr Iqbal said the area would be made more attractive for tourists and a proposal would be sent to the Punjab government to set up a separate development authority for it. He said basic and recreational facilities at the hill station should be improved.

The meeting decided that the water supply scheme for Fort Munro would be run by the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department instead of the tehsil municipal administration. The commissioner directed the PHE official to take over the scheme immediately.

The commissioner directed the authorities to improve the look of the hill station and surrounding hills of the Suleman Mountain Range. He said only fit vehicles driven by licence holding drivers would be allowed to enter the hill station to avoid accidents. The meeting decided to establish a library, a museum and a mosque there and upgrade the hospital. —APP
