HYDERABAD, May 28 The Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party (STP) has decided to launch a campaign to mount pressure on the government to send back internally displaced persons of the NWFP.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the central executive committee of the STP in Qasimabad on Thursday.

STP chief Dr Qadir Magsi said protest demonstrations would be held and token hunger strikes would be observed in important cities and towns of Sindh from June 1 to 5 to mobilise opinion against the influx of IDPs into Sindh.

In the second phase, he said workers of the party would hold a march in Karachi and a sit-in outside the chief minister's house on June 10, to be followed by closure of the Sindh-Punjab border on June 17 to stop buses carrying IDPs from entering Sindh

Meanwhile, Hyderabad chapter of the PPP despatched on Thursday two truckloads of relief goods for the people displaced from Swat.

The People's Doctors Forum sent a truck loaded with medicines to Swat, adds our Nawabshah correspondent.

Dr Ghulam Hyder Memon said medicines were collected by PDF volunteers for IDPs living in camps. He said that a truckload of relief goods would soon be sent for the affected people.
