ISLAMABAD Former Member of National Assembly (MNA) Shah Abdul Aziz was picked up from Islamabad apparently in connection with the Lahore blast.

A senior official of the interior ministry confirmed the picking up of the former MNA but was reluctant to give details. Aziz may have had some links with the suicide attack on Rescue-15 building at Lahore that claimed over two dozen lives and injured over 200 others.

Meanwhile, a former official of an intelligence agency Khalid Khawaja, submitted an application with Aabpara Police requesting the police to register an FIR against what he called the 'intelligence agency' people and sought the former MNA's early release.

He said Shah Abdul Aziz was picked on Wednesday morning when he was on his way home after meeting Maulana Abdul Aziz, Khateeb of Lal Masjid. “Apparently Shah Abdul Aziz was picked up by agency personnel,” Khawaja said.
