MULTAN, April 21 Four new grid stations are being established in the district to improve electricity supply to consumers, Commissioner Syed Muhammad Ali Gardezi said during a briefing to parliamentarians about development projects on Tuesday.

He said not even a single gird station was established in the city over the last 20 years despite the fact that the city`s population and electricity demand increased many times. He said four new gird stations of 132KV each were being established at Soraj, Miani, Jail Road and Qasim Bagh.

The commissioner told the meeting that construction work on a flyover from Eidgah to Chungi No. 8 and expansion of Bosan Road would begin from next fiscal year under prime minister`s development package for Multan.

He briefed the meeting about the construction of northern and southern bypasses, inner ring road, 11 new roads and other roads in the city.
