QUETTA, July 2: The Balochistan government is recruiting 100 expert officers in the finance department through the provincial public service commission to overcome shortage of accounts and finance officers.

Governor Amirul Mulk Mengal said this during his visit to the finance department on Monday. Finance Secretary Ahmed Mehmood Zahid accompanied him.

Mr Mengal announced that the government had approved 100 news posts for the department that was short of accounts and finance affairs’ experts.

The selection of experts was in the final stage through the public service commission, he said and added that improving the performance of the government officers and elimination of corruption were the top priorities of the government.

The governor lauded the efforts of the staff of the finance department and announced honorarium equivalent to three basic pays for them for their excellent performance.

He later took round of the offices of the planning and development department, where Additional Chief Secretary Ahmed Bukhsh Lahri briefed him on the performance of the department.

He also announced honorarium for the planning department staff and officers.

BAR POLLS: Amanullah Kanrani and Mumtaz Yousaf were elected on Monday as president and general secretary, respectively, of the Balochistan High Court Bar Association.

Other officer-bearers elected include Hamayun Khan Tareen, senior vice-present; Ghulam Mustafa Buzdar, joint secretary; Amir Zaman Jogezai, finance secretary and Nasir Kasi, library secretary.

Six junior vice-presidents elected from six divisions of Balochistan include Haji Sadiq Ghuman of Sibi, Haji Khan Chalgari of Nasirabad, Barkat Ali Baloch of Turbat, Suleman Baloch of Kalat, Nasarullah of Quetta and Gulab Khan of Zhob.

Eight successful executive members are: Sundar Das, Malik Azmatullah Khan Kasi, Miss Robina Butt, Usman Yousafzai, Mohammad Rahim Baloch, Abdul Sattar, Khalid Baloch and Wazirzada Fazalur Rehman.
