ISLAMABAD, July 1: Pakistan on Monday condemned Israel’s destruction of the Palestinian Authority headquarters in Al-Khalil at the weekend and called for the Jewish state to “cease its aggression against unarmed Palestinians”.

A Foreign Ministry statement called Israel’s reoccupation of key Palestinian cities and destruction of Palestinian Authority’s administrative infrastructure as “acts of arrogance” designed to scuttle the peace process in the region.

“Pakistan urges the international community to compel Israel to immediately withdraw its forces from all Palestinian Authority territories and cease its aggression against unarmed Palestinians so that there is a possibility of resumption of the peace process.”

The statement said Israel’s reoccupation of key Palestinian cities, the premeditated and systematic destruction of the Palestinian Authority’s administrative infrastructure, and the deliberate targeting of Palestinian security services had resulted not only in the tragic loss of lives and wanton destruction of property, but also endangered regional peace and stability. —Reuters/ PPI
