HYDERABAD, July 1: A large number of former employees of the SRTC staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Monday against the nonpayment of 15 per cent mark-up on their dues and illegal deductions from the amount already paid to the employees.

Speaking at the rally, Former Employees Action Committee president Ghulam Mohammad Depar and other leaders said it was mentioned in the written agreement that if the employees were not paid their dues within one year, the Sindh government would be bound to pay 15 per cent mark up on the total amount.

They said the agreement was signed on Dec 6, 1999, and the payment was made in June 2002.

The leaders of the action committee said if their demands were not accepted by July 10, the responsibility for the consequences would be on the Sindh government.
