PESHAWAR, June 29: A meeting was held here the other day to say farewell to the outgoing principal and welcome the new head of Islamia college.

Deans of faculties, many senior professors and administration staff of Peshawar University attended the meeting. Principals of the various colleges affiliated with the university were also present on the occasion.

University Vice-Chancellor Dr Zulfiqar Hussain Gilani, presiding over the gathering, announced the appointment of Ajmal Khan as the new principal of the college.

The participants paid tribute to former principal Mussarat Hussain Shah for his selfless services in the promotion of education. Later, Peshawar University issued an announcement that Prof Dr M Javed Khan has been appointed as the university registrar and Ajmal Khan as the principal of the Islamia College.
