HYDERABAD, March 19 The Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan chief Dr Sahibzada Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair said on Thursday that people had emerged victorious from the struggle for the restoration of chief justice and now it was judiciary`s test to provide cheap and easy justice to them.

He said after offering special prayers outside the press club as a thanksgiving on the restoration of chief justice that blood of the martyrs of May 12, 2007, had not gone in vain. A JUP worker Fareeduddin and many others like him had sacrificed their lives for the restoration of deposed judges, he said.

He paid tribute to lawyers, civil society and democratic forces for playing a major part in the struggle and lashed out at the elements, who were trying to brand the struggle as ethnic.

He said that the movement was launched by people of all provinces and people in all federating units were celebrating the restoration of chief justice.

He, however, cautioned the people to remain vigilant against conspirators who were still busy in sowing seeds of dissention among people of different provinces.

STP Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party chairman Dr Qadir Magsi said on Thursday that Sindh chief minister and Sindhi ministers were `puppets` and all those voted into power by Sindhis had utterly failed to protect rights of their constituents.

Speaking to party workers and members of the organising committee, Dr Magsi said that Sindh was faced with a very serious situation as all its resources and rights had been usurped and even its sovereignty had been given to a terrorist organisation.

`Outsiders` were being settled in Sindh under a planned conspiracy to convert the
indigenous population into a minority, the STP chairman warned. Sindhis had no other option but to unite on one platform under a sincere leadership, he added.

He appealed to people to attend a public meeting on Saturday, marking the founding day of the party, and shun differences to demonstrate unity for the protection of their motherland and resources.
