ZARDARI COMMITTEE: Leaders of the Asif Zardari Release Committee have accused its president, Mubeen Phulpoto, of collecting tens of millions of rupees by making the committee a source of income.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Wednesday, they claimed that it was due to the negative attitude of Phulpoto that Zardari was still languishing in jail.

They pointed out that sincere workers, who had launched a struggle for Mr Zardari’s release, were tortured and sent to jail. Phulpoto, they regretted, did nothing for the victims and remained indifferent.

They said that a decision for his removal would be taken at the workers’ convention in July.
