SAITAMA (Japan), June 26: Brazil’s semifinal match-winner Ronaldo revealed after his side’s 1-0 victory over Turkey Wednesday that he was punched by a defender.

Ronaldo, whose 49th minute goal settled a tight, well-contested match, lashed out angrily at Bulent Korkmaz after a clash between the pair.

“The problem was, I think, with the player number three (Bulent) for Turkey,” Ronaldo said.

“We fell together to the floor. After that when we both got up he stepped on me and hit me with his fist on my head. That made me very angry and that was the reason why I reacted as such.”—Reuters
