TMA okays 103 new taxes

MANSEHRA, June 24: Tehsil municipal administration in its special session has approved the levy of 103 new taxes on all sorts of business, with 50 percent proposed cut in the schedule by its members.

Taxation committee chief Mohammad Iqbal Awan informed the House that the tehsil had expected Rs8,787,500by income through the new taxes. But after a 50 per cent cut in the taxes, the income would be reduced to Rs4,388,950 while the loss would be born by the tehsil municiple administration offering a relief to the common man.

Traders, shopkeepers and the general public rejected the schedule of new taxes which the administration had advertised in May.
