ABBOTTABAD, June 23: Kehal Urban Union Council Nazim Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani has urged the provincial government to declare Abbottabad a calamity-hit area to help farmers affected by the dry weather.

He said here that Haripur and Mansehra had been declared calamity-hit and the Agriculture development Bank was offering relaxation to borrowers there. He said agriculture in the district entirely depended on rain and the crops had been badly affected. He demanded waiver of agriculture tax and other charges, including Abyana, due on the poor farmers.
