PESHAWAR, June 22: Tanzim Tahaffuz Huqooq-i-Chitral convener Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali has asked the federal government to announce an early date for the ground-breaking of the Lowari Tunnel project.

According to a statement issued here on Saturday, he said the project would prove a blessing for the people of this backward district as they mostly remained cut-off from the rest of the country due to closure of the route because of the snowfall.

He said as the project was a long-standing demand of the Chitralis, the government should announce the date for the ground-breaking ceremony early so that all the people could participate in the function and witness their dream come true.
