PESHAWAR, June 22: A woman has appealed to the NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah to order the arrest of the kidnappers of her daughter.

“I have registered four FIRs against Rehmanullah and his gang from Shabqadar, district Charsadda, in different police stations for kidnapping my 14-year-old daughter, Riffat, but the police has failed to recover her,” said Bakht Begum of Qasim village, Nowshera.

Flanked by her husband, Maqbali Khan, she said that Rehmanullah, Iqbal, Javid, and her former husband Nadir, had kidnapped her daughter four months ago.

Bakht Begum said that the kidnappers had made her daughter an addict. She also accused a human-rights activist Musarrat Hilali advocate of supporting the kidnappers. She asked Ms Hilali to change sides and start supporting her.

She also narrated her horrible experience at the Peshawar High Court where she was stripped of her clothes by her former husband and his gang.

According to her she was assaulted by Rehmanullah, Iqbal, Javid and her former husband Nadir at the PHC’s premises on June 19 where she had gone in connection with the hearing of her case.

The police, she said, arrested Javid, but the other two made their escape good in a car bearing registration number (M- 8495).

She alleged that Rehmanullah and his brother have a travel agency in Shabqadar, Charsadda, known for notorious dealings.

She also alleged that Rehmanullah has “Press” sticker on his car which is being used for unfair transactions.

With tears rolling down her cheeks, Bakht Begum vowed to continue her struggle in the hope of getting justice.
