HYDERABAD, June 19: The Pesh Imam of Masjid Umer Farooq Ahle Hadees, Hirabad, Maulana Naqeebullah Pathan, was injured when some unknown men attacked him here on Wednesday.

The unidentified men entered the room of the Pesh Imam before morning prayers and attacked him with hatchets and daggers.

When the worshippers came to the mosque they saw Maulana Pathan lying in a pool of blood and took him to the Liaquat University Hospital.

He was later shifted to Karachi due to his critical condition.

Meanwhile, the Jamaat Ahle Hadees held an urgent meeting and protested against the murderous attack on Maulana Pathan.

The meeting announced that a protest day would be observed on Friday throughout Sindh.
