Samundri’s Rs28.57m tax-free budget

FAISALABAD, Oct 31: Samundri tehsil council’s tax-free budget of Rs28.57 million has been presented before the house for approval.

Nazim Rana Farooq Saeed Khan said here on Wednesday the budget was prepared in the light of proposals of councillors.

He said Rs8.86 million had been fixed for development projects and efforts would be made to ensure completion of ongoing projects with the estimated cost.

He said non-development expenditures had for the first time in the history of tehsil council been reduced.

The Nazim said Rs10.75 million had been allocated for the salary of TMC employees which came to about 37.24 per cent of the budget.

For health and sanitation facilities, Rs6.05 million had been set aside while Rs1.8 million had been allocated for the water supply and maintenance.

WELCOMED: The All Pakistan Cloth Exporters Association (APCEA) has welcomed the appointment of Lt-Gen Khalid Mahmood (retired) as the Punjab Governor.

APCEA chairman Mian Muhammad Latif in a statement on Wednesday said the new incumbent had the inherited background of a business family and he understood the problems of the business community.

He hoped the governor would expedite the development work in Faisalabad, especially on the Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad Motorway and dual carriage-way of the Faisalabad-Sheikhupura highway.
