HYDERABAD, Dec 18 The Hyderabad circuit bench of the Sindh High Court on Thursday issued notices to the chief executive officer of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company and a number of other officials, asking them to appear in court on Jan 13 on an application filed by a clerk of the company, Jalaluddin Rajput.

Mr Rajput who was represented by Ejaz Ali Hakro advocate sought the court to restrain the respondents from appointing a revenue officer (BPS-17) in the company till it gave a final decision on the contempt of court application against the former CEO Khwaja Maqbool Ahmed and Zafar Iqbal Awan, director of Hesco`s human resources and administration.

The applicant filed an affidavit, mentioning that he had moved the petition in March 2006, praying the court to direct the respondents to consider his representation for appointment ad RO and decide it on merit.

He said that he was fit for the post but the officials delayed decision on his representation despite the fact that they had undertook before the court that they would dispose it of on merit.

The court then disposed of the petition on Feb 15, 2007, directing that the representation should be decided within two months, he and added that he then applied for the post of RO but the respondents again failed to comply with the court order, forcing him to file a contempt of court application which was pending decision.

He said that the respondents conducted written tests for the post and he appeared in them but they did not announce the result nor informed him anything about them.

The respondents again invited applications for the post of RO on Dec 15, 2007.

He moved the court, which stayed announcement of results of interview on March 10, 2008 through an interim order. The order was still in operation, he said.

But the respondents advertised the post for the third time in sheer violation of court orders, he said.
