Published November 1, 2001

MULTAN, Oct 31: The government should immediately release the two scientists who were arrested a few days back.

This was demanded by Multan High Court Bar Association secretary-general Khalid Ashraf Khan in a press release issued here on Wednesday.

Paying tributes to Dr Bashiruddin and Mirza Baig, he said, their services to the cause of nation were commendable.

The scientists were close to religion and they had to face many problems, he added.

He urged the Islamic world to extend financial support to people in Afghanistan.
