ISLAMABAD, June 14: The Supreme Court was informed on Thursday that senior counsel Syed Sharifuddin Pirzada had obtained a stay order by making a false statement, claiming that he had talked to Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, the opponent counsel, and he had no objection to it.

Hafeez Pirzada informed the Shariat appellate bench that he had to rush from United States, where he had gone to attend on his ailing niece, when he was informed by his clients, Sevenup Bottlers, that Sharifuddin Pirzada had obtained a stay order by attributing the statement to him.

The counsel informed the five-member bench that he had not consented to issuance of stay as claimed by Sharifuddin Pirzada.

Justice Munir A. Sheikh observed that the court had to believe a senior counsel’s statement and Sharifuddin Pirzada did make a statement in this regard.
